Helpful Tips to Save Money on Gas

1. MAINTAIN TIRE INFLATION

Stop at a gas station and purchase a cheap tire pressure gauge.  Regularly check your the pressure of your tires to ensure proper inflation.  Tires that are underinflated can increase fuel usage by 2% per pound.  It adds up!

• Check your tire pressure every time you fill up the tank.

2. ENSURE YOUR AIR FILTER IS CLEAN

Since your vehicle's air filter is designed to remove solids such as dust, dirt, bugs, and more, it can get clogged very quickly.  Dirty air filters cuts off the air and can result in more fuel being used.

• Check your air filter every maintenance opportunity.       
• Change your air filter more often if you live in a dusty area. 

3. Change your Oil & Oil Filter 

Limit friction between the moving parts of your engine by keeping your oil clean.  Regular oil changes increases fuel economy and your vehicle's reliability.

4.PURCHASE A LOCKING GAS CAP

Prevent thieves from stealing your gas with a locking gas cap.  You pay money for your gas, why can't they?  Deter thieves easily and very inexpensively.  New gas caps can be purchased a most automotive shops and parts centers.

• Using a locking gas cap on all vehicles!  We know getting gas can be a pain and you may not want to add an extra step to that process, but you will not only will this save money, but you prevent a thief from stealing what belongs to you.  
  
• If you are parking vehicles for a long time (i.e. vacations, use of another vehicle, car is broke down, etc) purchase a locking gas cap.
